Good Afternoon,
Jamie Wylie, Head Women's Coach at Stratton Mountain School joined us for a speed session down on the Top Notch Fields. It was the 3rd year that Jamie came over, and every year she continues to impress Danny and I with her new workouts and knowledge. The campers were run through a great warmup focusing on mobility, then a workout specific warmup that she used as her teaching tool to explain the breakdown of speed.

Much of the session focused on running form and working as hard as they could for each short sprint. We then broke into smaller short sided games of SpeedBall and applied the tactics we had practiced into a game. Jamie believes very strongly in fun and games, and that each young camper should be exposed to the thought of "playing". This value parallels the philosophy that Danny and I share and is one of the many reason why she is a great fit for camp.

She closed the session with a cool down, stretch, and a Q&A on rest, nutrition, and the difference between soreness from activity and injuries. The campers had some great questions and learned a lot from her session, we thank Jamie so much for taking her time to visit with us today.
Due to the threat of approaching rain, we have decided to plan an alternate afternoon session other then the hike, we will be taking the camp to the Swimming Hole in Stowe to get in the pool, hit the water slide, and jump off the diving board. Maybe we will get the hike in at a later date, because it is such a great time.
Till the afternoon,
-M
