With the threat of rain and possible storms Danny and I were forced to make a tough decision during lunch on whether or not to try and get in our hike up Mt. Mansfield this afternoon. We always look at safety first and with close to 70 people on the mountain we decided that the hike would not prove as the safest option for the afternoon. It didn't take to long for us to come up with another idea.
The staff at the Swimming Hole was great enough to pull in some extra life guards on short notice and we were able to get all of the campers over to enjoy their amazing facility. The campers enjoyed the Olympic sized pool, diving board, and water slide. The counselors even got in on the action and jumped off the diving board during a pretty funny cannonball contest. Fun was had by all and we were greeted by rain when we were leaving so we felt confident we made the right call.
After dinner we were joined by Chad Couto, the fitness director of The Stoweflake Resort,
for a discussion on nutrition and fitness. We were impressed with not
only the manner the information was delivered, but also how it was
received. These kids are smart, and reinforced that they take things
away from every opportunity that we provide here at SDSC.
Outdoor movie night switches to indoor movie night. It looks like we're about to have a big slumber party!
Thanks,
-M
