Danny Noyes, Colby College
SDSC Director

A 2002 graduate from Colby College, Danny began his tenure as Head Coach of the Colby Ski Team in 2007.  Over his seven seasons, 14 different Colby skiers have qualified for the NCAA Division I Championships, good for 24 individual qualifications.  Two of those skiers, Josh Kernan '10 and Vince Lebrun-Fortin '11 combined for 8 NCAA Div I All-American honors.  Danny was recognized as the 2010 EISA Coach of the Year when his Men's Team won 3 of the 6 EISA SL races.  This year at the NCAA Div I Championships in Park City, UT the Colby women finished 5th in the nation in SL behind UVM, Denver, Colorado, and half a point behind New Mexico. 

Entering his tenth year as the Director of Stowe Dryland Ski Camp, Danny has a love of sport, and a love of Alpine Skiing in particular, that engages young athletes and encourages them to achieve and excel.

Christin Lathrop, Burke Mountain Academy
SDSC Assistant Director: Curriculum

A U16 coach at one of the nation's premier ski academies, Burke Mountain Academy (7 years), Christin also enjoyed a fantastic competitive career.  A NH native, she made the USST out of GMVS elevating through the NOR-Am circuit to the Europa Cup.  Her most successful year on the hill came in 2001 when she finished 6th in DH, 7th in SG, 14th in GS, good for 7th overall in the NOR-Am title chase.  Christin went on to attend Dartmouth College, earning NCAA All-American as well as USCSCA Academic All-American.  Someone who loves outdoor activities as much as she loves skiing, we are fortunate to have Christin at SDSC in the role of Assistant Director: Curriculum.

Matt Maloney, former USST Tech
SDSC Featured Coach

A 2006 graduate from Colby-Sawyer College, Matt has 7 years coaching experience at Colby-Sawyer, MWVST, Stratton Mountain School, Colby College, and the 2012-13 season as a USST Men's C/D Team Tech.  During his year with the Nor-Am and Europa Cup Teams, his athletes earned 3 NOR-Am victories and numerous podiums.  With expertise in strength and conditioning, equipment preparation, technique, and tactics, Matt led the way for the previous 9 years with technical changes at SDSC as Assistant Director: Curriculum. This year he returns to SDSC as a featured coach.

Tom Barbeau, Waterville Valley: BBTS
SDSC Featured Coach

An icon in junior racing development in New England, Tom returns to SDSC for his second year as a featured coach.  Currently the Athletic Director and Head U16 Coach at Waterville Valley: BBTS, he has over 30 years coaching experience including attending three Olympic Games as a coach (one representing Canada, two representing South Africa).  He is a master in the Burdenko method of training and rehabilitation, and recently WVBBTS built a facility on campus dedicated to its methods, justly named after Thomas Barbeau.  Once drafted in the Canadian Football League as a running back, Tom is in the McGill University Sports Hall of Fame as well as the record books.
