Evening Activity - Bike Course, Swim, Speedball

After a delicious dinner of chicken and mashed potatoes, we headed down the Stowe Recreation Path for our first session of camp! The evening activities are opportunities for the kids to be active and outside in ways that are different than the instructional sessions focused on athletic instruction. Tonight's session featured a mountain bike obstacle course where everyone could get comfortable on their bikes before we head into the woods tomorrow, while also beginning to push their comfort zone by going over ramps, jumps, and through a mine field of cones. We also learned how to play an SDSC favorite game called speedball. As is customary here at camp, we all jumped into the water to cool off in the...well, we will just say "refreshing" stream on the rec path.

Looking to tomorrow, we will have our first instructional session on basic athletic stance with camp director Danny Noyes, mountain biking, and then team building activities in the evening. We are off to a great start, and can't wait to tackle our first full day tomorrow!
