The SDSC staff arrived yesterday afternoon to get all of the
gear ready and anxiously await the arrival of our 2016 SDSC family! Registration
began at 2:00 pm and the doors flew open with campers of all ages excited to
see old friends and meet new ones as well! It is always fun for the SDSC staff
to see how much everyone has grown over the past year and hear about all of the
fun adventures campers have had. Campers are broken up into small teams where
they will remain for the week to encourage teamwork and so they have a small cohort
to connect with (although many activities are done outside teams as well!). The
team names are based off countries with strong national ski affiliation
including USA, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Italy and France. After settling into
rooms and hugs goodbye to parents, campers broke out into teams to play some
games and get excited about the week. Danny introduced the camp counselors and we
went over rules and expectations, of course emphasizing the number one rule to
have fun! Looking forward to some dinner and to see what the night has in
store.
